چکیده

Abstract Stress/force monitoring of prestressing tendons is challenging but crucial to the evaluation safety structures in which they are used. To this end, a smart elasto-magneto-electric (EME) sensor based on elasto-magnetic (EM) and magneto-electric (ME) effects proposed for noncontact field absolute stress these steel tendons. In paper, our research design, implementation, application EME sensory system non-destructive overviewed. The results confirm that developed possesses high repeatability, ease operation maintenance, corrosion resistance, long expected service-life. It demonstrated technology feasible stress/force both new existing reliable stable.

Smart Elasto-Magneto-Electric (EME) Sensors for Stress Monitoring of Steel Cables: Design Theory and Experimental Validation

An elasto-magnetic (EM) and magneto-electric (ME) effect based elasto-magneto-electric (EME) sensor has been proposed recently by the authors for stress monitoring of steel cables with obvious superiorities over traditional elasto-magnetic sensors. For design optimization and engineering application of the EME sensor, the design theory is interpreted with a developed model taking into account t...

Calibration of Elasto-Magnetic Sensors on In-Service Cable-Stayed Bridges for Stress Monitoring

The recent developments in measurement technology have led to the installation of efficient monitoring systems on many bridges and other structures all over the world. Nowadays, more and more structures have been built and instrumented with sensors. However, calibration and installation of sensors remain challenging tasks. In this paper, we use a case study, Adige Bridge, in order to present a ...

Influence of changes in the prestress force on dynamic specifications of the prestressed concrete beam

Pre-stress techniques tend to increase cross-sectional capacity and optimize design. Such features have made these techniques rather popular. Over time, these structures tend to fail, and the reduction of pre-stress force over the lifetime of the structure is said to be one of the most significant destructive factors in these structures. This decrease in force occurs due to various reasons. In ...

Magneto-elasto-electroporation (MEEP): In-vitro visualization and numerical characteristics

A magnetically controlled elastically driven electroporation phenomenon, or magneto-elasto-electroporation (MEEP), is discovered while studying the interactions between core-shell magnetoelectric nanoparticles (CSMEN) and biological cells in the presence of an a.c. magnetic field. In this paper we report the effect of MEEP observed via a series of in-vitro experiments using core (CoFe2O4)-shell...

Transient High-temperature Stress Relaxation of Prestressing Tendons in Unbonded Construction

Unbonded post-tensioned (UPT) flat plate concrete slabs are popular for modern continuous multiple bay floor assemblies due to economic and sustainability benefits (reductions in slab thickness and building selfweight) and structural advantages (decreased deflections over larger spans). Only limited research has been conducted on the performance of UPT flat plate slabs under fire conditions, ye...
